Ingredients

  • 2 cups brown sugar
  • 2 cups Bisquick
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 cup chopped nuts
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

Directions

Combine and mix well. Bake in 9x13 inch pan for 30 minutes at 350 degrees F. This is flat and chewy like a brownie and looks "sorry." It can be cut in bars and rolled in powdered sugar or can be lightly iced. Raisins can also be added.

I have used this recipe for many years. My husband always enjoyed it when we made camping trips, as it was a good food to take with us. My original recipe also called for a small can of coconut.

I was thinking an 8x8 would work, so thanks for confirming it!

9x13=117 square inches. One half of 117 is 58 1/2 square inches. An 8x8 pan is 64 square inches.
I figure this is "close enough" to half of a 9x13 pan.
My guess is that an 8x8 pan will work fine, same time , same temperature. Just keep an eye on it the first time you make it in case it bakes a little quicker.

Does anyone know what size pan I would use if I cut this recipe in half? Thanks.
