The above contests are weekly. We pick 2 tip winners, 2 photo winners (1 photo and 1 pet photo) and 1 recipe winner at the end of each week. Each winner will win $25!
Use Rubber Gloves To Pick Up Hot Turkey To take the hot turkey from the pan, use a new pair of rubber gloves. For the amount of time you will be holding the turkey, the heat does not go through and you have a tight hold on the turkey so you won't drop it or it won't fall apart (like mine does) before it gets to the cutting board. Keep on smiling! Source: Me. When I was looking at the overcooked bird. By msweed from Ontario, Canada Contest Contender!

In our house, we love the convenience of throwing a frozen pizza on the pizza cooker, but I didn't like the expense or the lack of nutrition in frozen pizzas, so I started making my own. I found a great wholegrain pizza crust recipe, and I cook the crust up half way and let it cool before adding some homemade sauce and my toppings. I put the pizza on a cardboard cake round and put it in a 2 gallon ziplock to freeze it. I make up several of them at a time, and then they are ready to grab whenever we need a quick meal. Helpful Hints:

You can make it ahead of time, and finish it when you need it. Ingredients:
Directions:Chop up onion and cook with meat. Drain grease. Take cast iron kettle and add beans (rinsed off) chopped peppers and garlic. Add the rest of the ingredients. Mix up with wooden spoon then add the drained meat. Cover with cast iron lid. Place in oven 340 degrees F for no less than 3 hours. The good thing about this chili is that you can make it up the night before and put it in the oven the next morning and have it ready for lunch or dinner.

We always had one of these at Christmas, traditionally called a 'clootie' dumpling because they were boiled in white cloths. There are many recipes for clootie dumpling but I find this one easiest and not too rich. Ingredients:
Directions:I soak the fruit overnight in brandy or sherry, drain well and dust with flour to prevent fruit from sinking to bottom of pudding. Mix all ingredients and steam for 3 - 3 1/2 hours. I don't use a cloth. A bowl with a lid is fine (or cover it with greaseproof paper - quite a big bowl (3 pint) Before serving, turn out and serve with hot custard (my favourite) and/or cream. Can be made well ahead and stored to mature. Reheat in microwave. Traditionally, small silver coins (threepenny pieces) were scattered in the dumpling for the kids but this would go against health and safety rules nowadays:-(( Source: Many years ago from a co-patient in hospital. Be honest, how many of us have eaten leftover pizza for breakfast? I know I have! Well, here's an easy pizza that's topped with breakfast ingredients. If you're a cheese lover like me then feel free to 'double cheese'. Ingredients:
Directions:Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Evenly press crescent dough in to a 12 or 14 inch round pizza baking sheet. Evenly sprinkle 1/2 cup cheese, the green peppers and the tomato halves onto the dough, leaving a slight border around edge. Gently press these ingredients in to the dough. Bake in oven for 10 minutes. While the crust is baking, cook the scrambled eggs and cook and slice the sausage or bacon. Remove baking sheet from oven. Spread eggs, sausage or bacon and remaining 1/2 cup cheese evenly across pizza. Return to oven and bake for another 3 minutes or until cheese is melted and edge of crust is golden brown. Remove from oven. Let rest 5 minutes. Slice and serve. By Deeli from Richland, WA Contest Contender!
