Making Extra Payments |

If you send in a little extra money on your mortgage, car payments, credit card payments, etc., send a note along with the bill so the company will know it's to be applied to the principal and not the interest.

I've done this with my mortgage and it makes a tremendous difference in the amount of interest you pay, plus you build equity faster. I also do this with my credit cards when I can't pay off the balance monthly.
