My down jacket is losing feathers from the inside. I saw a question on here recently about this, but the answer was to sew up the holes. My jacket doesn't have any holes in it. This is my third down jacket and they all have done this. The inside is kind of a fleece material. It is reversible, but I can't really reverse it with feathers flying all over. Does anyone know what to do about this? Down jackets are so warm, but I'm about to give up on them!

It seems that there no solution.

I have had the same problem with my daughter's jacket. What I did was wash it, then turn it inside out and roll a lint roller over the inner lining to remove any of the loose ones poking out. Then I sprayed the whole lining with spray starch and hung it up to dry. It has really helped. Good luck

I have the same problem with my down jacket losing its feathers from the inside. The problem is that the feathers are not coming out of a hole or tear, they are poking out through the material itself, kind of like a needle poking through material. So, sewing or nailpolish will not work. Does anyone have another remedy?

That's my problem, there are no holes to sew or tape. It looks like a snow storm around me when I wear a down jacket.

Will spraying my down jacket with waterproof spray stop it from losing feathers?

No, you have to seal up the hole with tape or sewing. I prefer sewing. (12/30/2006)
