I am looking for the old fashioned recipe for Coca Cola chocolate cake and frosting.

Chocolate Coca-Cola Cake With Chocolate Coca-Cola Icing

CAKE

* 1 cup butter
* 1/3 cup cocoa
* 1 cup cola drink
* 2 cups all-purpose flour
* 1 1/3 cups sugar
* 1 teaspoon baking soda
* 2 large eggs
* 1/2 cup buttermilk
* 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
* 1 1/2 cups miniature marshmallows

ICING

* 1/2 cup butter
* 1/4 cup cocoa
* 1/3 cup cola drink
* 3 cups powdered sugar
* 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
* 1 cup chopped pecans

Preheat oven to 350º.

MAKE THE CAKE:. Combine first 3 ingredients in a medium saucepan over medium heat, stirring until butter melts. Remove from heat.

Combine flour, sugar, and baking soda in a large bowl, stir in butter mixture. Add eggs, and stir until well blended.

Stir in buttermilk, vanilla, and marshmallows. Pour into a lightly greased 13x9" baking pan.

Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a pick inserted in the middle comes out clean. Remove from oven; spread icing over warm wake.

ICING:. Combine first 3 ingredients in a medium saucepan over medium heat, stirring until butter melts.

Remove from heat; stir in powdered sugar, vanilla, and pecans. Spoon immediately over warm cake.

FOR CHOCOLATE LOVERS:
  • 2 cups flour, unsifted
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 sticks butter
  • 3 tablespoons cocoa
  • 1 cup Coca cola
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 2 eggs,beaten
  • 1 tsp soda
  • 1 1/2 c mini marshmallows

Combine flour and sugar in bowl. Heat butter,cocoa and COLA to a boil,pour over flour and sugar mixture, mixing thoroughly. Add buttermilk, eggs, soda and vanilla, and marshmallows. Mix well. Bake in a 9x13" greased pan at 350 degrees until done.

Icing: 1 1/2 cups butter 3 tablespoons cocoa 6 tablespoons Coca Cola 2 cups powdered sugar 1 cup Pecans. Mix till smooth and creamy.
