Preventing Leather Belts From Bleeding

Does anybody have a suggestion regarding how to treat a new leather belt so that it won't bleed on a sweaty waist band? My husband is an avid golfer in Florida, his belts ruin so many of his light colored shorts. Thanks for any advice.

You can buy a product called mink oil (in the shoe polish section at most stores). you rub it in and it makes leather waterproof. I think this would do what you want. Good luck!! :)
