Can you freeze sour cream?
By Mike from Orlando, FL
No, comes out seperated, runny and iffy looking. I did not want to use it.
Will be watching your post if someone comes up with a solution to this.
P.S. Cottage cheese is the same way.

I would like to know if you can freeze sour cream?
Doreen from IN
You can freeze it, but it separates upon thawing. You can stir it back together, but it will never be quite the same, especially for adding a dollop to your baked potatoes.
No, it does not freeze well, but it will keep indefinitely in the refrigerator if you store the container of sour cream upside down. Just make sure you mix it well before using. This really does work. (04/11/2005)
