I bought some new kitchen towels and have washed them a couple of times. I am wondering how I can reduce or eliminate the lint I get from these. They are black and white and every time I use them, they leave little black threads on whatever I am wiping down. Any tips are gratefully appreciated. Thanks!

The vinegar rinse worked. It took a couple times using it. Thank You!

OK I bought these towels and they were so covered with others' lints in one wash-I mean covered with balls. I was not happy so I immediately thought Im going to knife these things w/a short, bad-to-the-bone serrated knife- and it worked great, I did all five both sides of them, and watched TV. It took 3 or so hours. Yay.

They are not neccesarily defective. Some types and grades of cotton lint more than others. Keep washing and try the vinegar rinse. Good luck.

I have new towels that leave red fuzzy lint. I washed several times and they still leave red lint all over skin. How do I get rid of the lint? Would ironing work?

RE: Preventing Towel Lint

They are defective and should be returned to the store. (04/19/2005)

RE: Preventing Towel Lint

You could try using white vinegar as your final rinse, it will reduce lint. (04/23/2005)
