Cleaning Glass Panel on a KitchenAide Cooktop?

I have a KitchenAide glass cooktop stove. I don't need to clean the cooktop, I need to clean under the glass panel where the clock and timer are. I have an oily film under the glass panel. We took the knobs off and unscrewed the nuts, but the panel does not budge. I think it is held on by the sides as well. How do you clean under the panel?
