I'm looking for ideas on making a homemade wedding money bag. Something small and slightly embellished. The wedding is Irish themed, but ivory is the main color.

What's a money bag? All I can picture are those old Warner Bros. cartoons which feature bank robbers and sacks with dollar signs on them, and I can't imagine what those would be doing at a wedding.

How about Ivory colored bags made out of a soft material with a small green ribbon tied around it. Or work in a small green clover (maybe ironed on to each bag) Or a Irish blessing printed on each bag.

Buy 1/2 yard of ivory satin. Cut a rectangle 15.in tall by 25 inches wide. Place rows of lace 2in above bottom. Fold bag in half side to side, with lace facing in. Sew side and bottom seam. Turn bag to right side. Make a one inch casing along top of bag by folding down 1/2 then one inch. Sew leaving one inch opening. Insert satin ribbon (1yd] into casing using small safety pin. Tie ends together to form a drawstring. Bag can be made bigger if you like. Have fun!
