Sausages and Apples
- 2 large tart apples
- 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 cup long grain rice
- 1 lb. link sausage
- 1/4 cup ketchup
Core and slice apples; do not peel. Layer apples and brown sugar in 2 qt. casserole. Cook rice using package directions. Spoon into casserole. Pour boiling water over sausages. Let stand for 3 minutes; drain well. Arrange sausages over rice. Spread ketchup over top. Bake, covered, for 30 minutes at 375 degrees F. Bake, uncovered, for 15-30 minutes longer.
