Baby (Dachshund/Chihuahua)

Baby is a 1 year old Dachshund/Chihuahua mix. I got her from my Brother. She likes to lay on me, and sleep with me.

My pet is pregnant by another full blooded Dachshund. She's wonderful! She loves me and loves following me around. I love her.

Wildlife: Canadian Geese

I caught this picture feeding some Canadian Geese at a small pond near my son's apartment complex. You can tell they are use to being fed because they come right up to you when you are getting ready to feed them. I also saw some gold fish coming up to eat on the bread as I was throwing it out there. I was really surprised to see them in that pond.

Garden: Prune Shrubs and Bushes Yearly

This is a garden that I tend to year round. My tip is to keep shrubs and bushes pruned once to twice in a year. Definition of each plant is the rule.

Peanut (Chihuahua/Yorkie)

Peanut is a 5 year old Chihuahua/Yorkie. Peanut was 4 weeks old and given to me by a friend because the mother got hit by a car and she needed someone to care for the pups.

Peanuts favorite toy is a Hippo Hand Puppet. He loves boating and car rides to the local recycling center. His biggest past time is playing with the yard squirrels.

Peanut has a large understanding of the human vocabulary. He also has a very fashionable wardrobe and loves everyone. I would love to put him through the local agency for training to be a working dog at the local hospitals to try to put a smile on the patients faces.

Today's Tips:

Children's Plastic Coat Hangers for Undergarments

I buy children's plastic coat hangers to hang my t-shirts and camisoles. The indentations on the hanger keep the straps from falling off the hanger. Maybe I'm just lazy, but I do enjoy saving time, and I no longer get flustered when the tees fall off the hangers.

Good Buy on Refurbished Generators

Home Depot has refurbished generators in stores for a very good price. After the past winter freeze in our area, several generators were returned for various reasons. I purchased a Generec 7000 gas generator this weekend, on line new is 999.00, for $600 with only 19 hours on it. Paperwork said loose exhaust. I purchased mine in Elizabethtown, KY, and they had several different types and different price ranges.

Uses for Coffee Filters

Coffee filters are a very thrifty product to have in your kitchen. Not only for filtering the grounds on coffee, but try opening a few on your plate to drain fries and other fried foods. Also excellent to use to clean windows and mirrors. Good to use to dust. I also use to cover food in the microwave. I bet you can now think of other ways to use these cheap circles.

Saving Money on Greeting Cards

A couple of good ways to save money on cards: The dollar store has a surprisingly good array of cards and at mine (Dollar Tree) they are 2 for a dollar. We also like to make cards by using construction paper. We cut out a picture of someone (funny, famous, whatever) and write something in a "balloon" (like in the comics). There are so many possibilities!

Add Vinegar to Your Wash for Soft Clothes

Add 1/2 cup of white vinegar to your wash. There will be no need to use fabric softener or fabric sheets. It makes your clothes soft. It might take a few washings to get the built up fabric softener out of your cloths. But the money you will save on fabric softener is amazing. I haven't used fabric softener for years.

Use a Vinyl Place Mat in a Pet Cage

I use the vinyl place mats (one in each animal's cage) for a place to lay that is not wire. The wire can be bad for their feet. I had thought to put a couple squares of vinyl floor tiling, but the place mat idea is less expensive and easier to find and replace. It is also a cool place to lay in the summer. My rabbit and ferret love it.

What can I use to clean the toilet tanks? Right now they look black stained. I recently put in a water filtration system and expected to see clear water in my toilet tanks. Instead whenever I open the toilet tanks it is all black. I have a septic system, so I don't want to use anything that will cause a problem with the septic system. Any help would be appreciated.

Laminate Floor Streaking

We just got Laminate Hardwood floors put in our house. The company that installed our floors told us to use this one product which leaves marks on the floor. I see greyish foot prints, mop marks, and where I sprayed the cleaner.

I searched on the web and saw many people use vinegar and water, but that did not work. Windex didn't work either. I was thinking about the Swiffer wet mop for hardwood floors. I just want to get rid of the grey markings on the floor and get them all shiny. Please help.

Tips for Speaking Before a Judge

I have to go before a judge for the second time and I need help explaining my depression, OCD and bipolar symptoms to a judge. I already have but my case appeared to be not strong enough due to the fact I am not very good at talking in front of people. I tend to get nervous and I didn't explain my situation in enough detail. I just want to be better prepared this time around as its difficult for me to talk about these issues I've lived with for so long. Any advice would be great!

Front Load Washer Vs. Top Load Washer

When comparing a front loader washer to top loader as it relates to spinning the clothes much faster in the front loader. Does this wear out the clothes faster? The front loaders use much less water and clothes dry much faster. It is hard on the knees from bending down to get clothes out of front loader. I would love to hear your experiences.

Luxurious Lemons
By Kelly Ann Butterbaugh

Normally when I shop, I don't fill my cart with bright yellow lemons. Until recently, that is. Now, after reading about the versatility of lemons in a grocery store flyer, lemons are at home in my fridge. Lemons are a reasonably priced replacement for some products, and they recoup their costs easily throughout the house.
