Selecting a Dog Breed

Does anyone know how to pick the best dog for your family? I know there are quizzes but not sure where to find them.

Check out the book "Your Purebread Puppy". There is a ton of good information about many breeds, not just AKC ones. Also, there are good tips on how to screen breeders and a quiz at the end that is very in depth and takes your whole family's needs into consideration. We used it to help us pick our Japanese Tosa two years ago.

Don't get an Australian Cattle Dog. I'm forever picking hair off my coat and out of my whole life, big toothpick like hairs. She also bites everyone, not a damaging bite but lots of nips. Love her dearly but I dream sometimes of poodles who never shed.

Hi,
I would recommend researching breeds through the AKC. You definately want to start with the research and be sound that you have found what you are looking for.

Good Luck!
