Every time we restock our weekly groceries, we make sure to bring our cooler. We place the cooler in the trunk with ice packs.

Trader Joe's "Everything But the Bagel" SeasoningI have been making the popular 2-ingredient bagels, which use this seasoning. The cashier at Trader Joe's, where I purchased the seasoning, said she loves it on avocado. I bought a few avocados on special for 50 cents each. I spread the bread with my homemade Greek yogurt, spread avocado, used the seasoning, and added lettuce. The sandwich was great.

Soften Brown Sugar with Less MessWe've all heard the maxim; to keep brown sugar soft, put (something or other) in the jar. And yes, it works. But what a mess. The sugar inevitably sticks to bread, or apple slices, and pretty much everything else one can think of to use.

Ricer for Grinding Coffee BeansI recently found that my old coffee grinder was broken. I decided to use something else we have around the house to grind the beans. Years ago I inherited my mother's old ricer. I put the beans in the ricer and used a lot of elbow grease to grind the beans. Tada, it worked.

Produce WashIn a mason jar, add 1 cup of water, 2 tablespoons of baking soda, and 1/2 cup of vinegar, mix well. Put produce in a bowl and pour over fruits. Let sit five minutes and rinse well.
