Bowling is an activity that is affordable and appeals to both sexes. You can have cake and soda there too.

Just have everyone go to the mall together. I remember doing that for one of my friend's 14th birthdays. It was co-ed, it was free, it was super fun.

I am not sure where you live, but for me - I live in California! So it's still beach or pool season so you could have a party there! And the food would be easy chips, pizza, snack food and water/soda/Gatorade.

Other options could be, having a party at the park! Again with the easy snacks and pizza. Play board games at the park, activities/sports or find inspiration online especially Pinterest! You could craft your own decorations prior to your party.

But my all time favorite would have to be the bowling alley. It's inexpensive and you can check your local bowling alley place if they have any special or deals going on. Or, if you have a pool hall/arcade center that'll be fun too!

Here are a few ideas:

1. Believe it or not Pinatas are still a big hit at the teenager's birthday party. This can be fun for both boys and girls. When you blind fold the person you will need to spin him or her around 15 times before they can hit the Pinata.

2. One time we set up the side of the house as a movie theater and showed films on the side of the house. It was a lot of fun. We had chairs set up, made popcorn, had hot dogs, and drinks. The kids could enjoy this and watch films and eat at the same time. It is a good idea, but can only be a night party.
3. If your parent's don't want to spend a lot of money try to find some good coupons for pizza. You can have your party at a pizza parlor and eat pizza. Your mom can bring the cake. If you have coupons where you buy one and get one free this will be cheaper than trying to make food or do a BBQ on the beach.
