Activity Apron

This activity apron could be used for a variety of purposes; for a teacher, for a children's church class, at home use with your own children, a grandma with grandchildren, etc. Items or activity cards are placed in each of the pockets and worn by the teacher, leader, parent, etc.

Total Time: 2 hours

Supplies:

1 purchased apron
fabric squares
sewing machine
thread
scissors and pins
iron

Steps:

Cut out rectangular or square shaped pieces from desired fabric (any size depending on how many pockets will fit on your apron in two or three rows). I used lots of "fun" children's fabric for this apron. Allow for l/2" seams around the perimeter of each square when determining the size of the pocket. Press top of fabric with a l/4" seam and then press a second time to make a l/2" inch seam for top of fabric. Stitch across the top of each rectangle or square.

Pin fabric pockets in place on front of apron in two rows, evenly spaced. Stitch around the two sides and bottom of each pocket.

Attaching the patches to the apron as pockets.

Activity cards can be placed in the pockets or little treats or prizes depending on the "use" of your apron.

I love it. I think my mum would love it for when the little ones are about :)
