Add Life for an Old Bra

Bra with fabric patches attached to the underside of the bra cups.I love my older more comfortable brassieres but they tend to get rough on the edge so I decided to try sewing some really soft scrap material on the edge to get more life out of the bra.

Steps:

  1. Start with a clean bra.
  2. An older bra with some wear.

  3. Look in your old scrap material or take a pillowcase that has holes in it (thats really soft material) or an old sheet and cut two panels, one for each side of the breast. You will have to determine size on this, but make sure you add enough material so that it can fold into the cup when you're done.
  4. Soft fabric patches next to a pair of scissors and thread.

  5. Sew each side to the right side of the cup edge.
  6. A patch sewed to the bottom of a bra's cup.

  7. Fold the material under the bra and into the cup. Put the bra on and you won't believe how much softer the edge is to your skin and you get a lot more life out of the brassiere.
  8. A patch sewed to the bottom of a bra's cup.
