You have Viking Clock Company Grandfather Clock. Movement is made by Hermle Black Forest Clock, with Triple Train - Triple Chime-Cable Weight Driven like this www.youtube.com/watch?v=lNSaAKqFGZo.

Franz Hermle is the world's oldest and most prestigious clock manufacturer. Franz Hermle started the Hermle Clock company in 1922 in the Gosheim, Swabian Alb region of Southern Germany. By the 1930's Franz's clock company became a world leader in the manufacture of quality clock movements. He had a flare for efficiency and used the latest modern techniques for producing clock movements.

In 1977, Hermle decided to establish another manufacturing facility, Hermle Black Forest Clock Company to serve the North American market out of Amherst, Virginia, USA. Hermle's Headquarters in southern Germany is now in its third generation, still family owned and operated. In October 2010, Hermle Gosheim was rebranded as Hermle Uhrenmanufacktur GmbH and as of January 2011, Hermle Black Forest Clocks rebranded itself as Hermle North America.
In addition to leading the way in clock manufacturing, Franz Hermle's company, now called Franz Hermle and Sohn, is a leading supplier of clock pendulums and dials. Many mechanical clocks available today are fitted with a "HERMLE" movement.

The price depends not only on the external condition of grandfather clock, but also on the condition of the movement. You have not written whether your clock is working.

You asked how to obtain an appraisal. The easiest way is to contact someone local using this link for the International Society of Appraisers www.isa-appraisers.org/

You can search by zip code or country code.

Appraisals are not inexpensive so be sure you are getting one for the right reason.

For example, you may need an written appraisal by an approved body if you are getting a rider for home insurance or for a move.

If that is the case, they may have their own "body" for who you need to have sign off. Ask first if that is the reason.

If it is just for your own info to find value--I would search for solds online (never use asking price as value--value is only sold prices that are relevant for your situation...so if you are in the US and you see a sold value for Europe--that is not relevant, but if you are in the US and are in NY and you see one for PA that sold that is closer to the value you may see. Ideally if you are in NY you would need a NY value to get total apples to apples value.

Items like this are regional in value--if there is a glut in a market it drives values down. If they are scarce and in demand it drives prices up.

Hope this helps get you started!

Go on eBay. Filter only those items that sold. Then you will know the market value of your clock.
