Areas of Permed Hair Straight After a Few Days?

Areas of Permed Hair Straight After a Few Days - view of straight area of long hairI got a perm on a Friday, but by Sunday it looked like the front of my hair (by my temples) was almost completely straight. I hoped that on Tuesday when I washed it that things would be OK. So Tuesday came around and I washed and styled my hair with a curling shampoo and conditioner then used curling styling products and a diffuser.

I went to work for only 3 hours and now I do have a problem with excessive sweating on my face and head from a medication I am taking and I also live in North Carolina where it is hot as crap outside. But here I was again after a few hours with the front of my hair almost completely straight and now the back underneath at the neck area almost completely straight as well. So I'm not sure if the perm was not processed correctly or this is coming from my sweating issue or if maybe there are some styling suggestions that can help, but I'm really disappointed because the parts that are curly are absolutely gorgeous and then I just have these awkward straight pieces.

Please help.

I do not know what type of medication you are taking but I've read there are a number of meds that may have an effect on perms.
Did you tell your stylist that you were taking this medication?

I'm not sure how you can find out if your meds could be the problem but you could probably ask your pharmacist about this.

If the meds could have caused this problem and you did not tell them you were on this medication before the perm, then most likely your stylist cannot be held responsible for the problem.

You may have to wait until you are off this medication to have a new perm and medications can stay in your body for several days after discontinued.

If the meds are not the problem then you should notify your stylish about the problem and see what solution the two of you can decide on.

This really sounds like an issue with the medication you are on that is causing this issue with your perm. There are some people who just can't perm their hair because of the medications they take on a daily basis.

I would go and talk with your hair dresser and ask them if these medications are effecting the perm and is there anything that can be done about this.

If you had a stylist, than you need to contact them for this problem. When having this done to your hair, there are things you should and should not do with this style.

Next step is to ask questions from your stylist or a new stylist on how to repair. There is a process to go through for this !
