My Pit Bull was the runt of his litter. At 3 months he weighed 14 pounds and now he's 7 months old and weighs 54 pounds. Is that an average weight for a Pit his age?

They are 30 to 60 pounds when full grown, and between 18 to 20 inches in height. Dogs reach adulthood at about 15 months. He is doing very well.
Thanks I thought maybe he was gaining weight too fast.. since hes only 7 months

Your fur baby is adorable!! Great coloring!! I would have never guessed he was the runt! He looks like quite the sturdy and happy boy!!
My best advice is just to develop a good relationship with his vet and look to him/her for the best guidance if you have concerns.
Once you get established and the vet knows his history, he/she can guide you to helping keep your sweet boy healthy and happy!!
My late Carmel Ann lived to a ripe old age of 17 1/2. We established good vet care early and her amazing vet (now my Clarence's vet) guided me through things like her being underweight, then overweight, through skin issues, allergies, and when she was very old, thru congestive heart failure and sadly the stroke that we lost her to.
Dogs are like people and they are all different which is why it is so important for you to know them and to (like you are doing) notice if there are things that concern you and then to have someone you trust to ask about the concerns.
