Baked Custard with Maple Sauce

I think this is a great dessert. It gives me kind of an autumn feel. Great for a chilly night's dessert!

Ingredients:

    Custard:
  • 3 slightly beaten eggs
  • Advertisement

  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1/8 tsp. salt
  • 2 cups milk, scalded
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • Maple Sauce:

  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/8 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. butter
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 Tbsp. flour

Directions:

    For custard:

  1. Combine eggs, sugar, and salt. Add milk slowly. Add vanilla
  2. Pour into custard cups. Place cups in pan containing 1/2 inch hot water.
  3. Bake in 350 degrees F oven for 40 minutes or until knife comes out clean.

For Maple Sauce:

  1. Combine ingredients and cook until thick, stirring constantly.
  2. Cool.
  3. Add a few drops of maple flavoring.

Servings: 6
Prep Time: 15-20 Minutes
Cooking Time: 40 Minutes
