Catch Potentially Wasted Water

Keep a bucket in your shower/bath tub and kitchen sink to catch the water you run until you get hot water. This usually is wasted down the drain. Then use this to water plants or to flush the toilet. This saves about 1 gallon every time.

I keep a bucket in my shower in which there is a section which is used to squeeze out the mop. I fill it with cold shower water everytime I take a shower. Easy to wash floors with it.

This is a great tip - I can't believe I've been wasting all that water all this time. Thanks!
