Ceramic Bunny Repair?

We have a ceramic bunny whose ears broke off. How do we fix it? I'd like to make new ears for it but do not know how. Thank you.

I might try making ears with a polymer craft clay such as Fimo or Sculpey (available at Michaels in the US), baking them per clay instructions, and then using glue to adhere them to the bunny's body. If the bunny won't be handled too much, hot glue probably would be fine. Otherwise you might want to go with epoxy for a stronger bond. Then paint to match, followed by a coat of clear gloss or glaze (also at craft stores) if needed.

You did not say if you had the ears still, or even if they were broken in pieces. If is is possible I would try and glue the ears back on (if you have them) "Gorilla" has a quick dry glue or E6000 is an industrial glue which is good for crafts, but you have to wait 24 hours for it to dry.

A little trivia---in Japan if some thing of value is broken they "glue" the pieces together with Gold.

To look professional, you would have to put the cement in a mold, then glue on the base, paint the same color and put glaze on it.

Can you post a photo? It might help to see what happened.

If the ears are not just broken off and you cannot glue them back with Loctite Ultra Gel Super Glue, but the ears are missing altogether, then it is possible to sculpt the ears and attach them using pins. The metal pins must be instructed through the base of the ears and through the newly made ceramic ears. But it's not that easy.

Glazing (applying 2-3 thin coats of glaze after baking, always gently stir the glaze before use to avoid air bubbles).

I found a video of a repair of a ceramic figurine that was part of a lamp being repaired. It has a broken / missing right-hand coat tail and a broken / missing finger on the right hand: www.youtube.com/watch?v=nXCsQOapSOI&t=78s

I think a step by step guide How to Fix Broken Ceramic Figurines will help you too
