Check Pineapple Inner Leaves

To select a pineapple which is ripe for eating, I've been taught to pull one of its inner leaves to see if it comes away in your hand. If it does, then it's ready for eating. So if you want to buy one for eating in a few days, select one whose leaves are firmly intact.
