Cherry Bars

Ingredients

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 cup butter
  • 6 Tbsp. powdered sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 3/4 cups sugar
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 3/4 cup coconut
  • 3/4 cup drained crushed pineapple
  • 1 pkg. cherry chips

Directions

Mix flour, butter and powdered sugar and pat into a 9x13 inch pan. Bake at 350 degrees F for 15 minutes. Beat eggs, sugar, baking powder, vanilla and salt. Stir in coconut, pineapple and cherry chips. Add to crust and bake at 350 degrees F for 20-25 minutes.

Robin, this sounds scrumpdillyicious, but where in the world do you get packaged cherry chips? I live in Idaho and can't find them anywhere - sigh. (10/07/2009)

I agree with Brenda Sue. I live in Texas and I don't have a clue where to buy them (cherry chips) either. Is there a brand name so I may be able to order them online? (10/07/2009)
