Chinese New Year Wreath - wreath hanging on door Chinese New Year is on February 5, 2019. If you celebrate this holiday, here is a modern twist showing how you can use a Christmas wreath and transform it into a Chinese New Year wreath. It is great to display over the fireplace or anywhere inside your home. You can display it outside too if you laminate the red lucky envelopes.

I made this wreath using just two stems of forsythia, ribbon, bread twist ties, tape, and lucky red envelopes.

Total Time: 30 minutes

Supplies:

1 wreath
2 forsythia stems
bread twist ties
ribbon
scissors
tape
lucky red envelopes

Steps:

Figure out how you want your forsythia flowers (or your flower of choice - usually yellow and red for Chinese New Year) to be on your wreath. A piece of red fabric can be tied at the center top to use as a hanger.

Now use the bread twist tie and attach the forsythia to the wreath. Try to secure the bread twist tie near the flowers so it could be easily hidden.

Repeat and add forsythia to the other side of the wreath.

Now to hide the stems of the forsythia I wrapped some ribbon around the wreath and stems. (You can cut the forsythia stems if you want, but I want to use these for year-round decorations afterwards so I tucked them into the wreath and secured with bread twist ties.)
