Clean Filter for Smelly Front Loading Washer

A filter in a front loading washer. My LG Tromm always had a bad odor until I found that I can drain out the residual water and clean the filter that is located behind a little door on the lower front of my unit.

Does the filter have standing water in it?? I ended mine and a bunch of water poured out.. Not out of the hose that I drain that I drain but out of the filter sir.
