Craftsman LT 2000 Won't Start?

I have a Craftsman LT2000 that will crank, but not turn over. The engine is an Intek 19.5 hp Briggs and Stratton. The model is 31P677 0804 B1. I have spark, I changed out the fuel solenoid and grounded it to the block with the key on and it moves in and out. I've taken off the flywheel and the key is in place. The gap between the flywheel and ignition thing is gapped correctly. It has a new plug and fuel filter. I am getting fuel to the carb when I put gas in the cylinder it will backfire once.

Sounds like your exhaust valve seat blew out.

my Craftsman LT2000 would not start. we jumped it off my truck with jumper cables and got it on the trailor. I got home, replaced the battery, fired up the first time, let it run for a few minutes, turned it off, then tried to start it again, but it would only click click and then a high pitched faint sounding wine when the key was turned... plugged into a battery charger overnight (with the new battery that was completely drained from just one start) Read on the post here to unplug the switch under the seat and plug it back in and it fired up right away (but with one loud POP again during the crank), turned off and tried to start again, but only a click and the faint high pitch wine...

unplugged switch again and plugged back in, fired up right away! so is there a way to Bypass this switch or is there a fuse that's bad etc... I kind of want to get rid of that anyway because if there's a stick in the yard that I need to pick up, it automatically shuts off. I'm smart enough to disengage the blades first, but it's just more wear and tear to stop and start your mower everytime... Thanks for any help!

Blow in the tank with your mouth. The tank sits below the carb and it doesn't have a fuel pump. Which it should. They flawed big time. By using gravity feed while putting fuel level below carb level. Rookie move by craftsman
