Total Time: 1 hour

Yield: 1

Supplies:

Steps:

  1. Fold the towel in half width wise.
  2. Crochet Top for Hanging Towel - towel

  3. Measure 8 times the width of the towel with yarn, thread needle with yarn, knot the end, insert needle through top layer of the fold on the towel, with the knot on the inside of the fold. Do a blanket stitch all the way across the towel, spacing about l/2" to 3/4" apart. Knot at the end of the towel, hiding the knot in between the two towel layers.

  5. Take crochet hook and make a slip knot. Insert hook between first two blanket stitches and crochet two chain stitches to build up to first row of crochet. In each of the holes, single crochet all the way across. At the end of the row, chain two and turn. Continue this pattern from here on out, but don't single crochet into the last stitch on each row. Repeat until there are seven single crochet stitches left.

  7. For the next row, to make a button hole, single crochet into the first three stitches. Chain 1, skipping a stitch, and single crochet into the last 3 stitches.
  8. Continue with a chain two for each row and single crochet across each row skipping the last stitch until there are only three stitches remaining. Knot and cut yarn and work loose strands into the single crochet stitches to hide ends. Using a strand of knotted yarn threaded through a needle, sew a button onto the "strap" so it coincides with the button hole. Ready to hang!
