Cutting Tires to Line a Path?

There are plenty of ideas on the web, but few if any on how to make these designs. I just want to cut the old tires in half to make a path border, but am having a heck of time finding out how to cut them.

Angle grinder with metal cut off disc. Mark tire with chalk. Brace tire and follow line. Cut slits in side walls near ground. Use sticks to weave in and through pockets newly made. Stab into ground. Congrats you have a path when lined up.
