DIY LED Chandelier - lighted chandelier You can make a fantastic and very useful large chandelier with a few items you probably already have at home. This came in very handy for my best friend's 40th birthday. Instead of hanging up the LED bulb lights for a scattered, dim lighting effect, we bunched them together in a cage style basket and secured it from the gazebo ceiling. It was lovely!

You can use this method to hang your chandelier from any bar type ceiling, with a loop mount, or hang it from a tree.

Total Time: 30 minutes

Yield: 1 chandelier

Supplies:

LED string bulb lights
large cage style basket
extension cord
ladder
chain with secure latches
zip ties

Steps:

Attach the extension cord to the LED lights and place inside the basket. Pull the extension cord out the top of the basket and tie a zip tie so it's secured to the rim of the basket.

Grab your chain and get on the ladder. Loop the chain through the top sections of the basket, then secure to your posts of your ceiling bars, tree, or your fixture mounting bar on the ceiling.

You can use extra zip ties if you're using a heavy set of lights and basket like we did. Zip tie the running extension cord to your walls so it's not just dangling down.
