Dark Circles Around Your Eyes

I have had dark circles since 2004. I have tried many things to get rid of this. I put cucumber, tomato, potato, lemon juices, almonds, etc. I have no problem with sleep and have plenty of waters, approximately 10/12 glasses per day. Nothing makes my dark circles go away. Is there any other homemade tips to get rid of this? Which under eye cream will be the best for me? Please help me!

I talked to a dermatologist about this and he said that it is the blood under the thin layer of skin under there. That you are seeing. Don't waste you money on expensive things. They may appear to work. But in the long run. Plenty of rest and less stress will be the most helpful. (12/10/2008)

Dermatologists sell Teamine cream, and it might work for you, but it is not cheap! The pictures in the promotion brochures look like what you describe that you have. (12/10/2008)

My girl friend had the same problem years ago. Turns out it was a deficiency of Vitamin A. Go to your doctor and have your blood drawn and tested for that very reason. Vitamin A can be bought over the counter IF that is in fact what is causing your problem. Good luck to you! (12/10/2008)

Talk to your doctor about vitamin D, I have heard that a deficiency in D can cause dark circles. Taking a supplement has helped me. (12/10/2008)

My mum would argue that you have recently built up an intolerance to salicylates. Look it up for all the foods that contain it, but try cutting out tea and tomatoes and whatever else has it for a few days and see if it helps. My 4 year old daughter gets the dark circles and my mum has suggested putting her on A2 milk - only been a couple of days so I don't know yet if it will help. On the other hand, my mum is always finding a new miracle cure for everything! (12/11/2008)

This can also be an indication of Iron Deficiency (I know this as I went to see a nutritionist the other day, i am vegan) or a dairy or wheat allergies. You might want to get tested for allergies and find out how high (or low) your iron count is. I just "upped" my iron and decided to cut back on wheat 5 days ago and it's already clearing up! Dark circles can also be strongly indicative of a parasite infection (such as intestinal worms). Although it is hardly ever spoken of in the western world even in the developed world 90 % of people will have a worm-infection at least once in their life. Those of us who like gardening or eat undercooked meat or have pets or livestock or bite their nails or tend to be lacking in personal hygiene (such as not washing your hands thoroughly after going to the toilet, or before preparing and eating meals) or who eat food at restaurants where staff is less than meticulous about their own hygiene or the kitchen's can almost count on having them. Deworming at least once or twice a year (as you would with pets) does the trick.

Having a worm infection can also induce anemia (hence iron supplements) and poor absorption of nutrients ( i.e. vitamins and minerals) as well as allergies and asthma (or worse). Other symptoms might be stomach-ache, nausea, leaky-gut, fatigue, snoring, edema. (12/17/2008)

Dark Circles Around Your Eyes

I too have suffered from dark eye circles most of my adult life and I have watched my mom's get darker as she aged. There has been one thing I stumbled upon that has helped me tremendously to get rid of them and that was an internal cleanse.

Often the dark circles are an accumulation of toxins in the body. I used Dr. Natura's Colonix Intestinal Cleansing system. It's a 3 part system, pills then a fiber drink in the morning, 64 oz of water total throughout the day, then a cup of their tea at night. It is highly recommended to use this cleanse for 3 months to get rid of all the toxic gunk built up in your body and digestive track over the years.

What I experienced from this cleanse was not being tied to a toilet, 3 healthy movements a day, a feeling of being finally "empty", better sleep, improved energy, less clotted, less heavy, less lengthy and less painful period, about a 15-20 lb weight loss, my stomach got flatter, my hair stopped falling out like crazy, my nails grew thicker, stronger and longer, my skin got softer and cleared up, and my dark under eye circles cleared up! Whew, that's a lot but I know I'm forgetting a few things. I'm telling you, this stuff is amazing!

I believe some of what I experienced was from the gunk/toxins leaving my body and I could then start absorbing nutrients from the foods that I ate. I also started craving fresh veggies, I couldn't get enough tomatoes, green peppers and the like about 2-3 weeks after I started taking this cleanse. Unfortunately I wasn't able to finish the 3 month program but I DEFINITELY will be doing this again.

P>Check out Dr. Natura's web site, read the testimonials, look at the photo gallery. I was a believer before I received the product and started seeing results myself. Now I'm totally sold on it. You know the old saying, beauty comes from within. You have to take care of the inside to see the benefits on the outside.

Mind you, this isn't a quick, cheap fix like you asked for, but in the long run, your body with thank you for it by extending your life span. A 3 month supply of this system runs about $189.00. You can get it by the month for $88.00 but you get a price cut if you get them all at once. In addition, I've never heard of one single product that does what it says in eliminating those pesky under eye circles like I found with this product by accident. Plus, I'm no longer willing to put toxic chemicals in or on my body for any reason, let alone for beauty.

By the way, as another poster mentioned, this product gets rid of parasites in your body. They wreak absolute havoc on they body and are more prevalent than most people would even dream of. UGH!

One natural food source for iron deficiency is organic unsulfered black strap molasses. Blessings to all! twitch_64 from hotmail

P.S. I'm not affiliated with this company in any way even though sometimes I can sound like a commercial for this stuff...lol. I'm a Reiki Master/Teacher, Certified Yoga Instructor and have studied herbalism, aromatherapy, etc.

My interest in this product stems from the above passions and personal illnesses including Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue Immune System Dysfunction, Irritable Bowel Syndrome, Intestinal Dysbiosis, Candida, Parasites, Multiple Chemical Sensitivities, B-12 and Iron Anemia, Adrenal Fatigue, Thyroid Resistance, and hormonal imbalances.

I am in the process of detoxing my body to rid myself of these ailments and turning to nutrition, herbs, supplements, natural beauty and homemade cleaning products to eliminate further toxic buildup and rebuild nutrition. The dark under eye circles are just a warning sign from my body that it needs the right attention to heal. (01/06/2009)

I heard that it comes from lack of sleep and stress, it happens when most people have very busy lives and are not getting enough sleep and are stressed out. I would say take a couple of days off just relax around the house always watch your diet and dry to cut our dairy which may help too, make sure your getting enough sleep and try not to stress out to much and it will most likely clear up. If not go see the doctor you may have be allergic to some thing.
