clean food cans
craft paper
fabric
ribbon
scissors
tape measure or ruler
glue gun
craft paint for the inside of your cans - optional

Steps:

With your clean cans, take your paper or fabric and cut to size. Hot glue your seam from top to bottom. Press together, adding glue around until the seam meets.

Trim the top of your can for a more finished and decorative edge with ribbon. As an optional addition you can use craft paint to give a shabby look on the inside.

I have used this idea many times. Not just with cans. One thing I would like to add is how to make 'subdividers'. Many products come in oval type plastic bottles (shampoo, for example). I have cut these in half and used 2 (side by side) slipped into a slightly larger container to divide the space. I have used even more in large containers (like coffee comes in) to organize the contents. (pens, pencils, scissors, markers, etc)
