Dog Food for My Husky With Food Allergies?

I need a dog food that does not have the following items in it as my dog is extremely allergic: corn, peas, oats, lamb, salmon, or rice. I also need one that's not $100.

Myself I use blue wilderness but it has peas in it but not the other things you dog is allergic too. You can get it at petsmart as well as petco. It is one of the more expensive dog foods but worth the money. Why not do a search on dog food sites and look at the different dog foods both dry and canned and pay particular attention to the ingredients. You could also prepare you own dog food this way you know what's in it and no chemical or preservatives and get doggie vitamins and put them in the food.

I think you can even get raw food for them as well and give it to them that way. That is expensive so if you would do that route get the meat yourself human grade then you know what you are getting from regular stores on sale.

Walmart has a variety of dry dog food for dogs with allergies. However, most of them are made with peas. There are a few brands that are made with sweet potatoes. Nature's Recipe is made with chicken and sweet potatoes. Purina makes a grain free, chicken raised dry dog food. Some of Rachel Ray's dog food has peas in the formula and some food has salmon. You would have to be careful what you bought.

Or you can do what I do. I make my own food for my dogs. Your dog is allergic to rice, but is he allergic to pasta? I normally go to our market and buy all the small scraps from the butcher. They cut up a lot of meat to sell in markets. They also have a lot of packages of meat scraps. I boil these scraps and cut them up. I mix them with pasta and feed to my dogs. I also do this with chicken boiled and mixed with pasta.

Most veterinarians will urge you not to make your own dog food as it is very difficult to make them a balanced diet and a lot of trouble therefore the cooking does not usually last very long.

You list rice as one of the ingredients that your dog cannot have but do you know if that is just white rice and may not be brown rice? Brown rice is many time a staple in specialty dog food so you might want to check on that.
It seems like you could include potatoes, especially sweet potato, in your plan.
Blue Wilderness has several very good formulas that seem to fit your needs but unfortunately some of them may have peas as a minor ingredient but I have not read up on all of their products. They do also have a good canned dog food and this is a higher cost food but still affordable. This brand is being carried by more and more stores but it can always be found at Petsmart and other pet stores as well as farm supply stores.

I buy taste of the Wild, they have several favors. My great pyr is allergic to beef. At least I know that, but what else she is allergic to, not sure. The have Bisin & Venison, Prairie Fowl, Roast Lamb & Sweet Potato, & Pacific Salmon which you wouldn't want.

They have grain free too. I pay just under $40. Tractor Supply sells it, on sale they had it for $36, but not one close to me. Hope this helps.
