Dog Wets Her Bed?

My dog wets herself all the time day or night asleep or awake. She is always drinking water. It's driving me mad. I'm changing her bed 2 to 3 times a day. She's 4 years old. I love her dearly, but feel I just can not keep her if this continues. I need help.

Have you taken the dog to a veterinarian? This sound like a medical problem. Diabetes is a possibility. Please don't just get rid of the dog or assume this is just "bad dog" behavior.

Sounds like kidney failure or kidney stones. A vet can diagnose the problem.
Honestly, I can't see why you would consider giving her to a shelter before even taking her to the vet at least once to try to figure out what the problem is.

Hi. Maybe they have tried. Maybe there not financially able to provide for the dog or pay another vet bill. Maybe it's taking a emotional toll on her and is tired of taking all of her time out of her days cleaning urine Its never easy to let a animal you love go.

We had a dog with kidney problems. We bought a pee keeper and he was happy for a few more years before we had lat him go over the rainbow. We rescued an older dog and he is starting some incontinence. We will take him to vet and utilize a pee keeper.

She's clearly trying this forum first for help understanding the cause and hopefully find a way to prevent. Based on advice here, I assume she will explore the possibility of the cause being either behavioural or medical.

If it sounds medical I'm sure she'll try the vet. Give her a break and don't be so judgemental.

Have your vet check for diabetes. He doesn't pee as much as he did before insulin. But still pees in his bed from time to time even though he has pee pads an we are always there to let him out during day.

I had this issue with my Lab. She had diabetes insipidus.
Please take the dog to vet with this information. There is medicine that can treat this condition. She lived 12 wonderful years.
