Before you toss a nonworking small engine motor (from lawnmower, tiller and such), or a nonworking small appliance, call your local county extension office. Ask them to check and see if any 4H clubs would like it for their kids who are enrolled in the small engine project.

As a leader, I see my kids have to hunt and beg to find them when people throw them away. It will keep them out of the landfill, and the kids learn how to repair them, or reuse the parts for other projects.
