Some ideas on where you can donate old greeting cards:
Daycare centers love old greeting cards. They can use them for art projects for small childern. I do believe that Saint Jude's Children Ranch still accepts old greeting cards. You can also try to donate them to art and craft center.
Looks like Open Arms of Minnesota may still accept unused birthday cards:

Cards are heavy and mailing to charities is nice, but what I have found is it is better to take a large or medium USPS mailing box (the one flat rate kind), and fill up a the box with them and then list the for sale on eBay.
I then use the proceeds either for donating the money to my favorite charity or for household expenses.

There is a huge market for old cards (used or new) with artists and junk journal creators. If your home is smoke and odor free be sure to mention this in the ad as it is a huge plus for selling.

I would find your local schools are churches. Salvation Army is also great. If you have lots of things to donate, they can pick up: 1-800-SA-TRUCK (1-800-728-7825)
