Eggs Missing from Mallard Duck Nest in Our Yard?

Yesterday when I looked in the nest I saw 10 eggs. Today I saw only 4 eggs. Did she hide the other 6 in the nest somewhere? I don't want to dig around and accidentally crush an egg. A predator did not attack the nest.

There could be a predator that attacked without a trace though. Or momma duck could of hid the eggs.

A lot of time rodents will take the eggs out of a nest and run off with them. This could easily be the case here. If not the mother duck has decided to move her own eggs which is very possible. Normally if the duck feels like there is an issue they can build a second nest some place different and then roll the eggs on the ground to the new nest.

I would just want and see what happens and not go digging around looking for the nest. This could be the reason the duck has moved the eggs in the first place.

Sometimes a duck will change her nesting site and began moving the eggs around. YOu should look around and see if the eggs were rolled around, to a place under the house or someplace.
