Electric Switch Not Working?

I have electricity coming into a switch and going out from the switch to a fan, but the fan does not turn on. I checked to see if the fan is broken, but it actually works. So I tried another switch and get the same results. Anyone know what is wrong?

Maybe the wire from the switch to the fan is loose or broken

How did you test the fan to make sure it works if it didn't work when hooked up to both switches? I feel like I am missing something. Thanks!

i'm confused as to how you affirm that the fan is not broken if it doesn't work? TO me that's the definition of broken, that it won't turn on when plugged in, especially if plugged into outlets that work of other appliances
