There's some really dirty water in the pool because we haven't cleaned it in months, how do I take the water out? The lady who owned it said that there's a door somewhere to release the water, I can't find it.

Along the bottom of the pool. Usually close to the fliter area, there is a release vaulve. Kind of like where you can attach a hose to it to siphon the water out. Just look on the bottom edge of the pool
I personally wouldn't empty it out entirely unless you have a way of filling it up immediately such as with a water delivery service like fire company or water delivery. Your liner will dry out and ruin if you empty water and do not do an immediate fill. So keeping a certain amount of water in there at all times is your best bet. I have never lowered ours more than by about 1/3 at any one time..
Can you do a clean out with nets and hose and then shock the pool? That will clear out any nasties you have growing in there such as algae. You may need to shock it more than once and possibly keep it at shock level for a few days to get everything killed and start seeing a difference in water clarity. You will also need to likely do lots of backwashing and scrubbing of floors and walls during this time period. You can scrub from outside the pool while it is being shocked.
Do a Google search to look for the sites called TroubleFreePool, thePoolForum and the pool forum at GardenWeb. I have no affiliation with these sites BUT I have used them all for quite a long time to learn how to properly take care of my pool on my own.

Oh and I am not sure what she means by a door unless she means the flapper door to the filter box. If you have a manual pool cleaning hose, in that box is where the hose gets attached. And she may mean the backwash valve on your filter, you can release water through there but careful, it comes out fast.
