I would advertise at some of the local colleges in your area to start ff with. You can also put in an ad on Craigslist or even on Facebook. I am not sure where you are living so this will determine how you will advertise for your photographer. There are a lot of good student photographers or people that are looking for side jobs right now that take great photos.

It may be a bit unconventional, but have you thought about just asking a few select friends to use their digital cameras and take photos for you as their gift? You could give each one an assignment and then they can take photos and drop them on the cloud for you to do with you like with them.
My wedding was a long time ago back when it was still film and we hired a professional, but some of the best photos were the ones that came from the table cameras we had on each table--back then disposable film cameras that we took to the drug store to have developed. For very little money we had photos that really reflected the joy of the day vs. the formal and staged photos, which were nice enough...but when we look back, we go right to the friends and family album, not the formal book.
If I had to do it over, I would go with the friends and family option only! It just works for many people!! You could even have someone do videos that way also!

I would go to your Craigslist "services" area and post there. Since it's not a ft/pt position, they won't charge you for the post.
Chances are no one will find your post here and we don't know where you live either so it's hard to follow through (do not post location here).
I recommend posting on Facebook Recommendations (or browsing local photographers) or place a wanted there or NextDoor. You can also ask family/friends for word of mouth who can help you out!
As for Craigslist (for me) I wouldn't because the least you want is to come across someone who isn't reliable and not get photos for your wedding at all. Craigslist would be a last resort in my opinion.
I agree, take concerns to social media for a quicker response. Be sure to ask for Photographer Student with some experience and a contract proposal . Interview a few and narrow it down to the best suitable person.
