Freeze Cooked Pinto Beans for Later

Bronze Post Medal for All Time! 169 Posts

DH and I are southern people and we love pinto beans. For a long time I bought them canned at the super market since there are only 2 of us living here. Several days ago I cooked some in the slow cooker and it was far too many for two old people to eat. I figured they wouldn't be any worse off in the freezer than in the fridge so I dished up several containers with 2 servings in each and put two in the fridge and the rest in the freezer. We just finished the frozen ones yesterday and they were delicious! It is so much less trouble this way and much less expensive than canned store boughts.
