Every button my Electra 1973 Smith Corona (electric) works, but the G key.
What's the first reason just one key wouldn't work? Do I need to get a new ribbon?

That particular key may be bent out of shape. Open the cover and bend it back into shape.

Post back what they tell you!! I checked for YouTube videos on how to repair this and there are none I found for this model. Perhaps a similar model may help you trouble shoot!
That site looks pretty current. It was started in 2009 and was updated just last week. The book they have for sale was published in 2015.
