Sometimes a wire in the cord comes loose, and that cannot be fixed
it could be a wire or it could be something in the motor got wet.

Have you checked to see if it will work in a different outlet or if anything else is not turning on properly?
Sometimes several appliances will "start" at the same time and it will kick off a breaker in our house.
Sometimes cleaner cords are pulled from the electrical outlet improperly and it loosens a wire inside the line wire to the cleaner and it will not work if that happens.
If none of this is the problem you will probably have to ask for help. You may be able to ask the store where it was purchased for help with this or most Sears have a fairly decent service shop so they may be able to help - sometimes these things are an easy fix and no payment involved.
