Usually lumps and bumps on dogs are nothing, but we ALWAYS have them checked out immediately. The importance of this was present recently when my sister dog had a new lump that popped up seemingly overnight.
We took her right to the vet and learned she had a very aggressive (and rare) salivary gland cancer that if not removed could have killed her in a matter of months (or less).
It was removed with clean margins and, while nothing is guaranteed, the vets think she will make a full recovery. Had it not been caught in time...well, I don't even want to think about it, as she is my mother's trusted companion and my sweet fur sister.

The age of your dog has a factor when bumps are found on the dog. These bumps could be nothing at all or could be small growths that need to be removed. It is very hard to say one way or the other I would go to see the vet and see what they had to say. It is always better to be safe than sorry. My dog has some on her stomach and on her tits that had to be removed.
