Identifying a Tiny Plush Kitty?

Identifying a Tiny Plush Kitty? - well worn stuffed kitty toyI've had this tiny kitty plush since I was a small child (early 80s). I have no idea where it came from, but I feel like it was an accessory to another toy. I was rather cat-obsessed as a kid.

She originally had two blue eyes and two pink ears (all felt). I don't remember if she had a mouth. There was a small pink ribbon bow where the glue spot is now. She's very small. Maybe 3" and fits well in a small hand.

Any information anyone could give me would be awesome. Thank you!

Dakin and Hasbro made mamma cats with tiny kittens back in the 1980s so it is possible that this little one came from a set like that--very hard to tell since it has been so well loved all these years.

I don't know of another toy that had a kitten come with it--like this--maybe a porcelain doll, but typically they came with tiny teddy bears or dogs. I don't remember a cat, but the 80s where a while back.

The structure of the piece has a lot of lines of being home made--OR my last thought is places like Toys R Us and JC Penney sold boxed baby sets back in the 1980s that had a blanket and a lovie....perhaps this was one of those. They were usually unbranded. I see those periodically at estate sales...so maybe you can see if you can find one listed online and if it matches your memory.

You would search boxed infant set or boxed infant blanket set.

Post back if you find a match! Blessings and good wishes for success!!

It appears that she had very little 'shape' so I feel sure she arrived together with another (main) item such as a blanket or another toy. Three inches is very small so it could have been tucked inside a pocket of a size 2 - 4 dress.

I always loved Carter items and I remember they used some small plush animals with some their outfits.

I hope you can find out more about her but I really doubt that you will ever find another identical one.
You can always post your picture and story on the plush toy forums and see if anyone remembers this one.

Back in the 80s, they use to make these types of small animals to sell with baby blankets as a set. I remember they came in a complete set that had a baby blanket, some booties, some mittens and I do believe a small hat that went with the set.

There were sold as baby shower gifts to the expecting mom. Back then they were very popular and you could buy them at different stores like Sears, JC Pennys and a few other shops in the area.

It is time to take this to social media, with so many at home an online , I would post pictures and the same info you mentioned . This site reaches people, but social media like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram etc. reaches the world. Someone is bound to know or have this plush Kitty, or the company maker info. Good Luck!
