These tables were made in the middle of the 20th century. The value is around $35 each, from what I have seen.
Mersman was a popular furniture company with a long history. This link tells their story. They were staples in most middle class homes in the 60s.
Mid century modern has classic lines and some pieces are also referred to as Danish style. This is a good wiki below. These are definitely in the MCM category. Sorry I don't know the exact year. I tried to find it in an old print ad but came up empty.

I have seen tables like this without the Formica top. Do you know if that is all original? I have not seen every piece ever made so I am just curious.
Value is hard to place as I don't see any comparable ones online as sold. I never go by asking price when trying to give value, as people can ask whatever they want. Value for selling is what someone actually pays for the same item in the same condition in the same general area.
Next time you are at a flea market or vintage shop, you may see a similar price and get a feel for what someone thinks is the value. Chat with the person to see how they came up with the value.
If you are asking for value for insurance, talk to your agent. They are the experts.

I'm not sure about the Formica top being original, but it seemed to be. I couldn't find anything that even remotely looked like them. I sold them both this morning for $30.
Think of it as passing on good karma to the new owner. Many a newlywed started their new lives with these pieces and were thrilled to have an affordable and stylish piece..maybe even yours had that kind of start so consider it paying forward the good karma! Sometimes that is more important than the money!
Whoever bought these tables did get a very good buy as they were definitely worth $50 each or probably even more.
Sorry, but this happens sometimes and as the old saying goes "we live and learn" but sometimes the hard knocks hurt!
Well, I got them "free", used them 3 years and didn't need them anymore. The guy drove 30 mins to come get them. I had asked $40 and should have just said no to $30. I don't have much to sell that's worth anything, but those were a good find and I can always use the extra money even if it's just $10.
That seems like a good attitude - sounds like you may be one of those people who like to "pay it forward"
