There seems to be only one ingredient in Octagon Soap and that is lye. There are fatty acids in the soap that bound it together. Furthermore, you can make the soap with just lye, water and oil.

There are much more ingredients, than just Lye. . .
You stated "fatty acids". . . Those fatty acids would consist of oils, that when mixed with the Lye & water, make a chemical reaction to actually produce soap.

. . So "Lye as the Only ingredient", is far from a true statement. However, fact is - You cannot make soap without lye.

Some of the ingredients include Sodium Dodecylbenzene Sulfonate, Pentasodium Triphosphate, and Crystalline Silica
