I bought this from a friend. It's been in her family for about 4 generations but she didn't know where it came from. I wanted to paint it but wanted to make sure it's not an antique or anything before I do. It's all wood (not heavy so I'm thinking pine) and no markings or signatures on it. The hinges are rusted but still works. It's in really good shape. Is it worth anything? Is it an antique? Thank you.

If you're saying 4 generations that would usually be somewhere between 75 - 90 years so going by the information your friend provided I would think it is not an antique.
This table reminds me of styles I remember seeing in the late 40s-50s.
My thinking is this could have been something someone made for a special order and not made by at a factory.
Hopefully, another member, PGHgirl, will answer and fill in the gaps as she is the expert in this field.
Antiques are over 100 years old. This doesnt look that old to me

This piece has beautiful craftsmanship and well put together. It does appear to be a custom. If it does not have brand label, serial numbers, to authenticate and give a lead to follow.
