Sure looks like a flea..
What was the purpose of the trap?
What type of bug where you trying to catch?
If you have pets you will need to start a flea removal program quickly as fleas multiply fast.
DIY flea control is possible but it will take several weeks of constant working on the problem as the fleas have a life cycle so you have to work on their schedule.

I like using Diatomaceous Earth (food grade only) as it is not harmful to pets or people/children and very easy to use. You will probably need about 2 pounds to do a decent job and this is sold at most big market stores as well as online.
Wear a mask and sprinkle the DE all around the area where your pets hang out the most. Sprinkle any carpet (not all over but several areas) as well as sofa, chairs, pet bedding, etc as if will not harm any of these. Remember; sprinkle not clumps; you can use a small paint brush to spread the DE.
You can also rub it on your cat or dog but protect the eyes and nose. Just leave it on the pet.
You can vacuum the house after 3-4 days but repeat the process as DE is not an instant killer but it will kill the fleas and any other bugs that happen to cross the path.

If you have a yard you may have to think about defleaing it also.

If you do not have pets then you will probably have to think about how the flea got into your home.

I agree, this looks like a Flea , they have a life span of 18 to 21 days , under warm temperatures 80 to 90 degrees . They usually love 4 legged animals , but under the right conditions will attack humans. If conditions are not met , like temperature (cold) they will go dormant as a larvae until conditions are met.

It looks like it! I had fleas 2 years ago. We used a dish (filled with water) some dawn soap and lamp on the floor and it was a good trap caught them all. As well as throughly vacuuming daily for a few days.

Do you have any pets?

Hi
I dont have any pets so Ive picked it up from outside/a friends flat that has a dog.
Ive found about 6 in 2 rooms and have sprayed flea insecticide, soap dish method, lemon mix and vacuum every day.

The traps are down right around where I live as like a lot of people I can get paranoid about insects. So especially in the summer I end up with a mix of spiders, carpets beetles, bugs and wood lice. Also had a bad case of phorid flies in May which the landlord sorted. So they do come on handy.

This is a flea and it must have come into your home from the outside or from an animal. If you don't have any pets at all it is best to get rid of them ASAP because they can multiply so quickly. I have always used homemade flea traps around my home because I do have dogs. Even though I clean them all the time and give them flea medicine there are still some that remain on the dogs.

You can take a bottle or even a plate and add some water and dish soap to the mixture. Place these around the entrance or around the room in your home. They work well for trapping fleas. You just need to check them daily and change them if there are any fleas in them.
